Description
Vidar Bush is a Norwegian guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and record producer, best known as one of the country's leading blues artists. He grew up in Langesund, but traveled to the United States at the age of 15 to play in the band of American blues artist Rock Bottom. He toured the United States for several years before returning to Norway in 1990, and won the Smuget Prize in 1994. He released three albums under the name Vidar Busk & The True Believers in the period 1997-1999, before he "went solo" and Venus, Texas in 2001. This was a break from the style Busk's classic blues universe. Although the blues are in the background, he steps into big band, rockabilly and soulland with the greatest ease. The album was nominated for the Spellemannprisen in the rock category in 2001, when blues was not a separate category at the time. The album was produced by Anders Engen.
