Vanessa – Live at Høvikodden 1976 (2LP) – 2024 – NARKLP002
Vanessa was a Norwegian rock band and jazz group, formed in 1973. The band made their debut in 1975 with the album City Lip and released the album Black and White in 1976. The band was working on their third album when the group disbanded in 1978, but before they gave up completely, they managed to play a number of legendary concerts. A typical Vanessa-on-a-good-day was this October day in 1976, where the quartet - consisting of Svend Undseth (flute, saxophone, guitar), Frode Holm (keyboard), Thorsten Dulsrud (drums) and Harald Salater (bass) - did one of their best live concerts. This is progressive fusion/jazz rock that has been stretched out in both length and breadth. Released on CD and 3-sided LP.
