A fearless step into the future of funk. The Bump Squad, Norway's funk masters, are back with their third album, Guilty as Funk! on C+C Records.
The band, fronted by energetic vocalist Petter Aagaard (aka Re-Pete) and visionary producer Tomas Nerbø Smågesjø (aka Dr. Bumpenstein), has already left their mark on Norwegian funk. Now they are ready to break new boundaries. The journey started with the debut album Weird is the New Cool! (2020), and was followed up with "He Who Dares, Flares! (2022) - nominated for Best Funk Album of the Year by the American magazine Funkatopia. After more than three years of intense creative development, they are now releasing their most ambitious project to date: a double album with 21 new songs. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic Parliament album Mothership Connection - a monument in P-Funk history. The Bump Squad carries on the legacy, but puts their own distinctive mark on the genre with bold compositions and uncompromising energy. To further elevate the expression, the band has brought in some of the country's leading musicians: • Bullseye Horns from Oslo: Mats Joachim Johnsen (trumpet), Børge-Are S.
