Description

Motorpsycho have, since their demo tape "Maiden Voyage" in 1990, released 21 studio albums, four live albums and a host of EPs, singles and single tracks. They have a huge fan base and are critically acclaimed all over the world, yet they have managed to protect themselves and the band's inner life. What do we really know about Motorpsycho , other than the fact that they release about one fantastic album a year on average?

In connection with Rockheim's Motorpsycho exhibition, which opens on October 16, 2015, the book "Supersonic Scientists" will be released. An essay book where 15 of the country's biggest Motorpsycho fans and connoisseurs will frolic in 15 songs from 15 albums.

The entire Motorpsycho universe will be under the microscope;
The songs, the catalog, the lyrics, the recordings, the sound, the covers, the fans, the concerts, the enormous drive, the megalomaniacal concepts, the guitar playing, the references, the work ethic and last but not least; how do they manage to maintain their mystique after 25 years on the road?

At the same time, Rune Grammofon releases the anthology of the same name on LP and CD, with the same 15 songs. (The CD version contains the two bonus tracks "Psychonauts" and "Toys").

The 15 contributors are:

Kristopher Schau (musician), Marius Lien (author), Lars Ramslie (author), Anne Lise Frøkedal (musician), Hedvig Mollestad (musician), Synnøve Engevik (professor), Synne Øverland Knudsen (musician), Espen Hauglid (writer), Stian Stakset (librarian/writer), Håkon Gebhardt (artist), Nils Henrik Smith (writer), Johan Harstad (writer), Audun Vinger (music journalist), Stina Stjern (artist), Arvid Skancke-Knutsen (music historian) and Morten Haugdahl (music historian).

Bob LeBad and Kristopher Schau write the foreword and Kjell Arne Sandvik and Petter Flaten Eilertsen create the Motorpsycho discography of all time.
