Thomas Hansen had his breakthrough as a solo artist at the Quart Festival in 1999, where he played demos during an after-party and was discovered by the record label Racing Junior. After releasing his debut album Mysterious Walks in 2000, he gave up his previous job as a postman and focused on music as a livelihood. The album consists of raspy and painful pop music, clearly inspired by Neil Young, Elliott Smith and Will Oldham.
