Description

Strikk was a Norwegian pop group active in the 1970s and 1980s. The group's best-known song is "Sol" (with the chorus "Good day, good day, this is the meteorological institute ..."), written by Asbjørn Krogtoft and released in 1980. The members of Strikk were Ottar "Big Hand" Johansen, Asbjørn Krogtoft and Dag Spantell.

Dag Spantell was so inspired by The Shadows that in 1962 he started the instrumental band Beatboys, where he played rhythm guitar. This band lasted until 1965, when Spantell left to start The Misfits. Asbjørn 'ASA' Krogtoft is known for the composition "Graveyard Paradise". He was the frontman of the groups 1-2-6 and Taboo. Ottar had his breakthrough with the band Country Snakes in the early 70s and has been one of Norway's leaders in the country genre. ASA is credited with the majority of the songs on the album.
