Description

Flaata started his career in 1985, when he recorded his first cassette with his childhood friends from Skien: Amund Saxegaard, "Olsen Driver", Battie "The Brave" and Bjoern Baklie. Eight songs found their way onto the cassette, which featured songs by Glen Campbell, James Taylor, Phil Spector, Eddie Cochran and Carl Perkins, as well as a handful of songs written by Paal and the band members.

Two years later they started Memphis News with Pål Jensen, Carsten "Kesh" Holt and Vidar Busk, among others. In the early 90s, Flaata traveled to Oslo with two other musicians. There they played hillbilly music on the streets and called themselves Hashbrowns. When the group got a record deal, and later would record an album in the USA, they had to change their profile. Hashbrowns was then changed to Midnight Choir.

1 Honey Don't (Carl Perkins)
2 Star in Better World (Pål Jensen)
3 You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' (Phil Spector)
4 Steam Roller Blues (James Taylor)
5 Mad Mad World (Pål Flåta)

6 Just a Love Song (Amund Saxegaard)
7 Summertime Blues (Eddie Cochran)
8 By the Time I Get to Phoenix (Glen Campbell)
