Description
OCTOPUS - THÆRIE WIIGHEN (1981)
Octopus from Norway is an obscure prog band, originally from Haugesund, but on record they were based in Oslo. They only have one album in their luggage.
The album's title Thærie Wiighen is borrowed from Henrik Ibsen's poem Terje Vigen from 1861.
The band played a form of symphonic prog with a clear Nordic schwung. With their long instrumental parts, they have been compared to bands such as Eloy, Genesis and our own Kerrs Pink. In the band we find members from Bridges, Raastoff and Rough Justice. The record is very expensive on LP and has previously only been available in a small home-cut CD-R edition.
