Description
THE NULL$CAT$NYLTERS - ZLAPSTWANG (1993)
Null$katte$nylterne is a punk band from Namsos. Musically, the band is on a relatively standardized punk rock line with clear references to bands like the Ramones and contemporary Norwegian groups like Turboneger and Gluecifer. The band members always use pseudonyms in concert. They perform the songs in the Trøndelag dialect, and this has led to the band often being categorized as Trøndelag rock.
The band was started in 1991 by Mikael "Micke" Dahl and Åsmund "Åzzy" Prytz, and the original line-up was Micke - vocals Åzzy - guitar Stig Are Høstland (Jungelpatruljen) / Thomas E. Jacobsen (Zensor, Animal Alpha) - drums Tore Fallet (Indian Garden) - bass Siv Trine Haldås - guitar After several member changes, the band was put on hold, with the exception of two reunion concerts around Christmas 1995 and 1996. In 1998, Null$katte$nylterne was revived, and had their first breakthrough with the vinyl single "Pæng/Lægebesøk" in 1999. The band then embarked on a moderately successful tour of Germany, and received a distribution deal with a Spanish record label. In addition to Dahl on vocals and Prytz on guitar, the band now consisted of guitarist Lars Espen "Larris" Reitan and the rhythm section of the Trøndelag band Quintrophenia - drummer Tom Kenneth "Tommy" Alte and bassist Eirik "Eirik the Viking" Øien. Before all this happened, they released the cassette Zlapstwang, which is in great demand.
