NØKKEN – NOKKA NYTT (1979)
Nøkken, based in Bergen and rooted in reggae, was started in 1978 by Sverre Henriksen (bass), Kåre Sandvik (keyboards), Hans Petter Gundersen (guitar), Karsten Olsen (drums), Bjørn Vassnes (guitar) and Turid Pedersen on vocals , made up the first cast. The latter two both had backgrounds from the folk rock group Erter, Kjøtt og Flesk. Halldor Krogh joined as guitarist from April 1981 until the band disbanded in February 1984. The band got a recording contract with CBS in 1979 where they debuted with the album Nokka nytt ; a record that has never before been out on CD, but which can see the light of day if more than 150 people join the crowdfunding.
