JAN ERIK VOLD – THE TRUTH ABOUT THE TRAM IS THAT IT'S BURNING (1990)
Vold has collaborated with several jazz musicians. He brought the American "jazz & poetry" movement to Norway early on, and in 1969 he released his first album, Briskeby Blues, with Jan Garbarek's quartet. Later, he released a series of albums as a vocalist with his own poems in collaboration with, among others, Chet Baker, Red Mitchell, Nisse Sandström and Egil Kapstad. Musically, the albums range from bebop to free jazz, most in collaboration with producer (and guitarist) Jon Larsen. On Sannheten om trikken er that den brenner he jokes with Oslo Bystyre, Walter Mondale, Gro Harlem Bruntland and dedicates four songs to pay tribute to Bislet Stadion. The album features, among others, Knut Reiersrud, Jon Christensen, Terje Venaas and Egil Kapstad.
