Description

CIRCUS MAXIMUS – ISOLATE (2007)
Circus Maximus is a Norwegian progressive metal band established in 2000. The band was formed after the band Total Blackout disbanded. This band consisted of brothers Mats and Truls Haugen, guitarist Trond Henriksen, bassist Lyes Abid and eventually Michael Eriksen on vocals. The group was formed around 1993, and was based at Lambertseter Ungdomsklubb until 1998. After two demos, the debut album The 1st Chapter was released in 2005. Two years later, the album Isolate was released. It was released on August 7, 2007 in Norway on Frontiers Records, on September 4 of the same year in the USA on Sensory Records and on October 24 in Japan on Soundholic Records. Here it comes with the bonus track "Silence". The album has a musical atmosphere both darker and more accessible than the previous one. This concept album was designed by drummer Truls. After the release of Isolate, the band performed at the largest festivals such as ProgPower Europe, ProgPower Scandinavia, Sweden Rock and MetalHear.
