Lucifer Was was formed in 1969-70 just before the golden age of Norwegian prog rock. They were contemporaries of bands like Høst, Aunt Mary and Junipher Greene. Despite this, it was not until 1997 that they made their album debut with the album Underground And Beyond . 13 years later, in 2010, they released the masterpiece The Crown Of Creation - their fifth album. Guitarist and songwriter Thore Engen had collaborated with contemporary composer Dagfinn Koch on an earlier Lucifer Was album, and this collaboration developed into the crossover work with Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra where Koch was responsible for the orchestral arrangements.
