Description
German Michael Villmov has worked with Bendik previously, and their 1991 release "N" helped to launch Bendik's international career. On their Da Pacem they collaborate with contemporary percussionist Hans-Kristian Kjos Sørensen, vibraphonist Fredrik Villmov, organist David Jansen and the choir Capella Amsterdam, one of Europe's leading choirs.
Da Pacem means "give us peace", and the album is a journey in the name of peace that goes through four works "Da Pacem", "O Sapientia (O Wisdom)", "O Oriens (O Dayspring)" and "O Emmanuel". Da Pacem consists of some of Europe's best voices, interspersed with beautiful improvised saxophone playing. Colorful, thoughtful and expressive are some of the words that are repeated in the reviews. A mix of new and old music, Scandinavian contemporary jazz, improvised compositional music.
Only available in 150 copies on LP.
