LITTLE EARL WILSON – LIVE AT THE STUDIO (1970)
Little Earl Wilson was born in New York and came to Norway with his band in 1964 and was hired as an actor and dancer at Det Norske Teatret, but it is as a soul interpreter that he will be remembered. Wilson started the legendary soul band Little Earl & The Sapphires, which consisted mainly of musicians from an unnamed band that rehearsed at Club 7, and from the group The Bats, which went so far as to get an appearance on television. Wilson formed the band Club 7 Explosion in 1968, which i.a. included Inger Lise Andersen (later Rypdal) for a period. He released his first solo LP Live at the Studio in 1970. With him were Calle Neumann, Geir Wentzel, Knut Riisnes, Hans Knudsen, Sveinung Hovensjø, Nipe Nyrén and Ditlef Eckhoff.
