OLE PAUS – DEAR COMPATRIENTS (1989)
1989 was an eventful year for Ole Paus. His newly started company Nye Ord AS had rented BEL Studio in Oslo for two months. During those two months, Ole's "Stjerner i rennesteinen" and Jonas Fjeld's "Svært nok for meg" were recorded. Musicians came and went and records were recorded in two studios at once. An American producer was hunted down, and Ole and Jonas decided to produce themselves. In the middle of these two hectic periods, Ole also wrote the musical/revival "Kjære landsmenn", which was staged at a number of schools and cultural venues. But the recording was never released. The songs are well-known, but most of them have never seen the light of day in their original form. It is therefore very nice that we have now been able to brush the dust off the tape that has lain untouched in the vault of the National Library for 36 years. Two of the songs found their way to the album Stjerner i rennesteinen, and two of them are rewritten songs from Someone up there and Paus-Posten . He has Jonas Fjeld and Hilde Heltberg with him on the album.
