Description
BOLS – BOLS (1985)
BOLS played a central role in Tromsø's music scene around the mid-1980s. The band played in a number of contexts, including during the big rock mustering at the opening of Brygga – Ungdommens Hus on March 10, 1984, had two full-length evenings at Prelaten in the spring of 1984 and spring of 1986, and the band also participated in several NRK contexts, both on radio and on TV, before disbanding in the Christmas period of 1986.
We were also in the studio several times and made recordings, but we were never satisfied enough with what we had recorded to release it on record, says Sveinung Eilertsen, who was the guitarist in the band from the spring of 1983 until the band disbanded on the eve of 1986. – Then, unfortunately, our vocalist, Per-Eirik Johansen, died. We were a little in doubt for a while about what to do. Per-Eirik was so central to the band, both through his lyrics, the music and as a vocalist and frontman.
BOLS never released any of their own music in the 1980s, but the recordings they had made were preserved. These were recorded in Copenhagen in the fall and winter of 1985.
