LA ELVA LEVE – FILMMUSIKK (1980)
«La elva leve!» was one of the slogans during the Alta action in the late 1970s, where Sami activists and environmentalists stood together against the development of the Alta-Kautokeino watercourse. The campaign had enormous significance for the visibility of Sami identity and the development of Sami rights in Norway.
The film of the same name was directed by Bredo Greve and is a rare cult film. A more or less unscripted film that came about as the action progressed, and an almost Borat approach to filmmaking. A host of great artists contributed songs to the film, such as Ketil Bjørnstad, Heimevernslaget, Jan Erik Vold, Kåre Virud and Mattis Hætta.
