Description
Clowns In Battle was formed by Alis and Dr. S in 1994, and was inspired by British hip hop, Gatas Parlament and the Norwegian-language rock wave of the 1980s ("the big four"). The Dane joined the group no longer after its inception, and the guys built a name for themselves in the Norwegian-language hip hop community through a number of concerts and popular songs such as "Andeby City", "Tre musketeerer" and "År 2000". The band was a side project for a long time for everyone involved, with Alis also playing bass in both Oslo Fluid and the funk pop band Pimp Image. In 1999, Klovner I Kamp decided decided to go all out, and the debut single "Bare meg" was launched with a tour of 14 of Oslo's high schools in the fall of 1999. During the work on the debut album Schwin, DJ Goldfinger joined the band to replace Dr. S. Schwin was released in the winter of 2000 and is often referred to as the first album in "the great Norwegian-language hip hop wave".
