JON EBERSON GROUP – JIVE TALKING (1981)
The Jon Eberson Group was an award-winning Norwegian jazz rock group led by guitarist and composer Jon Eberson. Key members in the group were Sidsel Endresen vocals, Geir Holmsen on bass, Atle Bakken on keyboard instruments and Bjørn Jenssen on drums. In November 1981, their first release Jive Talking came out with their own compositions where Endresens first wrote the text, after which Eberson composed the music. It was recorded in nine days, and the melody "Jive Talking" was actually written for Radka Toneff four years earlier under the name Jay Talking and another text written by Fran Landesman. The album spent 26 weeks on the VG chart, where in week 5 (1982) it was in 1st place. Altogether it sold well over 60,000 copies and the group also won the Spellemannprisen 1981 for it.
