YAMAHA!! – EXTENDED NOSE (1986)
The band AHA!!/JAMAHA!!/Extended Noise, which was established as AHA!! in 1982, was a Norwegian jazz group consisting of, among others, Erik Balke on saxophone, Eivin One Pedersen on piano, celeste and accordion, Carl Morten Iversen on bass and Audun Kleive on drums. The band was for a long time a quintet, with guitarist Frode Alnæs, followed by Bjørn Klakegg as members. Under the name AHA!! they released the album Keep nose in front (Hot Club Records, 1984). In 1984, the band appeared on the TV program Kanal 1 on NRK. At the beginning of the program, they performed Would You Like a Coke, Mr Bandini?, and then the hosts Steinar Ofsdal and Ivar Dyrhaug discussed that the group's name was homonymous with the name of the pop group a-ha. The band AHA!! was the first to come up with the name. After the hosts' brief introduction, AHA!! accompanied artist Finn Kalvik, and later in the program they played their own instrumental song Pink as a Rainy Day. By 1986 the group had changed their name to JAMAHA!!, and released the album Extended Nose (Circulasione Totale, 1986).
