Description

Yes9 and OnklP met in the 2000s in Lillehammer. Jonny Engdal Silseth was then a member of the group Knights of the Norwegian House, and Pål Tøien in the group Verbal SNCz. The two groups (and three individuals), who respectively didn't have much to spare for each other, joined forces and formed the rap collective Dirty Oppland . The collective sent a demo to the group Tungtvann, who in their feedback specifically asked for Jaa9 and OnklP , who they thought excelled. In the fall of 2002, Jaa9 guested and OnklP "Stikk av Scena" on Tungtvanns Påfyll EP . The rappers debuted as a duo in 2003 when they released the album Bondegrammatikk - The Mixtape . The duo chose to sign with the record label C+C records. In 2004 they broke through with the hit "Kjendisparty", which sold gold. "Kjendisparty" was the single for the album Sjåre Brymæ , which came out soon after. The album featured, among others, Jørg-1 from Tungtvann, Sweden's Organism 12 and dance band king Rune Rudberg. OnklP and Jaa9 won the Alarm Prize 2005 in the hip hop category for the album.
