Israel wise was formed in 1988, and initially consisted of members from Angor Wat, a legendary punk band with ties to the UFFA community in Trondheim. Before the first album was released, they went by the name Vampire State Building for a period, and the final band name choice was made the night before the cover for the debut single "Sweet Bird of Truth" was to be designed. On the fourth album Albino Blue from 1993 Israelvis took took a new direction, both by incorporating more people into the band and by using samplers and other electronic instruments/tools. All of this, of course, without losing the heavy punch.
