German Larissa Bendel was herself central to a-ha's international fan club in Germany for ten years, and gives a unique perspective on the band both as the adventure was experienced at the time as a teenage fan, and how she reads the band's material today as an established academic, supplemented by the band's own comments.
Dr. Larissa Bendel (b. 1974) was one of the leaders of a-ha's international fan club in Germany from 1988 to 1998. She is a Dr.phil in American literature and has taught at the University of Hamburg.
