HIGH NOON – THE NEW LIFE DAWNING (1990)
High Noon from Modum were active in the late 80s/early 90s. They have a few demos on their conscience, plus the cassette release The New Life Dawning. They played a lot of live around Eastern Norway, including at the legendary Bootleg in Oslo. The band consisted of John Ove Andersen (guitar), Vegard Søtvik (guitar), Petter Fuhre (bass/vocals) and Runar Wam (drums/choir). For Runar and Vegard, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple were the major sources of inspiration. Petter and John Ove were inspired by, among others, Iron Maiden. They themselves called their music heavy rock, but it went under the collective term heavy. Today, Petter is active in the Irish folk band Killieburne Brae. John Ove is their regular sound engineer, and both Runar and Vegard have been in the band as musicians. Runar is working on his two one-man bands, SMÅKRYP playing punk rock, and WAM playing heavy rock/grunge. Both bands have a number of songs out on streaming services. Also plays drums in the punk band ARR, which has a number of cover songs out. Vegard has a project called Sangraal, also on streaming services.
