GRO ANITA SCHØNN – THANKS FOR GLITTER AND STASS (1974)

Gro Anita Schønn Gro Anita Schønn was a singer and actress originally from Røyken in Buskerud. Her breakthrough came in 1969 with her version of Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man", which in Norwegian was called "Lutfattig læregutt". In the 1970s, she had several hits with Norwegian-language versions of foreign hit singles, such as Bobby Darin's "A Simple Song of Freedom" which became "En enkel sang om frihet". She released six solo albums and appeared on 21 records in the Treff series. Thanks for the glitter and glitz was her third album, and contained, among other things, a Norwegian version of Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".
