GEIRR LYSTRUP – OUT OF YOUR DREAM (1976)
Geirr Lystrup started his recording career in 1972 with the collection Ti på taket og måltrostblues. He compared making his debut on a record to forgetting to put on his clothes in the morning, and then walking naked into the schoolyard. The songs were all taken from the book Egon Gruph's journey in reality, which was a combined ballad novel and textbook with guitar accompaniment. Musically, Lystrup emerged as an artist in class with the best in the ballad wave of the early 70s. Out of your dream showed a more political Geirr Lystrup. Like most other releases on the Mai record label at this time, the album was equipped with a 16-page lyric booklet with annotations. Fred Nøddelund was the arranger, while producers were Arvid Esperø and Haakon Manheim. Once again, some of the country's most experienced jazz musicians lined up to play. Lystrup was nominated for the Spellemannprisen for the second time.
