Description

"Fritter shjiten" is the first cookbook by Top Chef winner Reneé Fagerhøi. The generous and energetic Trondheim chef connects her own childhood memories, love of music, film and travel experiences to the dishes.

She shows the diversity of culinary inspirations. With a nostalgic backdrop, she creates old-fashioned dishes with a personal twist, classic dishes with a new presentation, and a variety of recipes that are probably new to most people.

Reneé Fagerhøi grew up on an anthroposophical Camphill farm, attended the Steiner School and comes from a vegetarian family. A vegetable dish should not be “a good vegetarian dish”, but a delicious dish in itself. At one point, Reneé started eating meat – and went all in! Under the motto “use the whole animal”, she shows how you can cook with so much more than chicken and minced meat. Through this book you will get inspiration for a wide range of dishes. There is cozy food for the movie, avant-garde dinner dishes and exotic snacks.

"Fritter shjiten" is packed with little stories, and is in that way a tribute to the appetite for life!
The foreword to the book is written by food artist Bent Stiansen (Statholdergaarden), who was a judge on Top Chef in 2016, when Reneé Fagerhøi went all the way to the top of the competition. Since her Top Chef victory, Reneé has realized several dreams. She has written this cookbook, married Thomas and established Bula Neobistro (bulabistro.no) in Trondheim and currently works as a presenter for TV2's "Fingrene av fatet".
