Description

The fall of 2011 came Find Coren with the second album release in his series "Nordic Poets". This time he set to music 19 poems by the charismatic author and rebel Jens Bjørneboe (1920-1976), as well as the memorial poem "Sten mot ruten: dikt i natten" by Bjørneboe's cousin, André Bjerke, which concludes the album. The album consists of poems from Bjørneboe's three poetry collections in the 50s, from two of his plays in the 60s, as well as loose poems published in the anthology "Aske, vind og jord" (1968) and two surviving poems published in "Samlede dikt" (1977). Musically, the album ranges from bare acoustic songs, via epic ballads with string quartet, to monumental raw rock songs. Find Coren is concerned with the complex person Jens Bjørneboe, and wants to accommodate the extremes of the author; the hurt, the patient, the romantic, the esoteric, the punisher - and through it all, a person and an artist who consistently takes the side of the weak and the outcast, with warmth and genuine compassion. Jens Bjørneboe was a brave and fearless person, a clear voice in his time. The album was started as early as 2003, but had to be put on hold due to illness. Coren picked up the thread again with the Bjørneboe album in 2009 after completing his extensive Olav H. Hauge project from 2008. The main musicians are Finn Coren: vocals, acoustic guitar, Fredrik Pfferkorn Sager: guitars, Lars Fredrik Frøislie: Mellotron, Chamberlin, organ, Atle Rakvåg: bass, Ole Tom Torjussen: drums, and Dagfinn Koch (strings). My Heart is produced by Find Coren and Øystein Vesaas.

Some reviews (excerpts): VG: Diecast 6. "The beauty and the horror. A complete artistic experience of a music album" Dagsavisen: "The meeting between Bjørneboe and Coren at their best, the expressions merge and we no longer think of them as a project. Just songs that sound as if they could have been created by the two of them together."
