Andres Rafael Diaz, known as Diaz , is a rapper from Jessheim, north of Oslo. He first worked as a local DJ at various clubs in Jessheim, and officially debuted as a rap artist in 1996 when he participated in a remix. The first album, 2050 , named after the postal code of Jessheim, was released in 2000. The album received good reviews both in Norway and abroad, including in magazines such as The Source, Billboard and Hip-Hop Connection. The American music magazine Billboard even referred to Diaz as a new comet from Europe. The album was produced by Tommy Tee, and released on his label Tee Productions.
