Description
Ola Snortheim:
We had been on tour in Sweden and Finland.
Manager Arild Skrindo had arranged a warm-up tour for us in England. We were to warm up for Duran Duran on their England tour. The day of departure for London was approaching. Then we learned that it had been cancelled. There was a rush to find others who needed warm-up bands. And Mink de Ville showed up as a replacement. We decided to leave.
However, England was characterized by protectionism at the time, and we learned that we did not have a work permit. Therefore, we would not have the opportunity to go on a warm-up tour with anyone.
But then we had bought tickets for the trip, and we decided that we wanted to go anyway, if only to try our luck and see if anything came up while we were in London.
We managed to do a couple of student concerts, but it quickly became idle. Which took its toll. We got on each other's nerves. Or we got on Nebb's nerves. Figured we had to do something. So we booked a small 8-track studio and recorded these songs. With Nebb's aggressive and bad mood hanging over us.
Hence the fitting name The London Nightmare Tape .
There were 4 of us in the band at this time. Anders Sevaldson contributed on keyboards.
