The year was 1994.
I agreed with Nebb that I would put together and arrange a compilation album from the recordings of old + some new songs we had made at Jørn's in Rodeløkka Studio.
It took a few years before I got the hang of the project. It was probably 1998 or 99 before I had it ready. And I contacted Terje Engen at S2 to get it released. He then asked if it had been cleared with Nebb, which I could confirm based on the agreement I had previously made with Andrej in 1994. Terje Engen contacted Nebb, who denied that this was okay or cleared at all.
So an official release never came to fruition.
I later called Nebb to check with him. He denied any involvement in the matter and remembered no agreement. So I said we had nothing more to talk about then, and hung up. I haven't had any contact with him since.
I became cranky and grumpy. And I felt like I had put so much energy into collecting the scraps that I had difficulty putting away the plans for this release.
So I figured I'd do it all myself, on my own. I'd have 100 double CDs printed and distribute them as giveaways to 100 "dedicated" people.
As intended, so done.
I contacted Bjørn Are Rognlid, who I had played with in Lonely Crowd and who worked as a technician at the dub studio Sun Studio. Together with him, I stitched together and mastered the songs.
(It was almost perfect. But Sun wasn't a mastering studio. So there were a couple of unsightly gaps between some songs that were supposed to flow seamlessly into each other. These errors have now been corrected.)
Later recorded an album with Sterk Naken and Biltyvene at Silvertone studio in Rodeløkka.
They had a CD copying machine in the studio that could copy multiple CDs at once, and I was allowed to borrow it.
Fellow musician in SNoB, Bjørn Pettersen, worked at a publishing house with layout, and he helped with the layout.
The album was finished and sent out to the 100 "chosen ones" in the year 2000.
I paid for it all, with a little help from my friends.
