DAFFY – DEN NORSKE NORDMANN (1981)
Rolf "Daffy" Kjernet is one of the country's most renowned sound engineers, both live and in the studio. He was a sound technician in both Arne Bendiksen Studio, Roger Arnhoff Studio and played bass in Badet Doodle Bugs, which had its heyday in the early 70s. Rolf started his career as a sound engineer for Edy Zoltans Spellemannen.
In 1981 he released his only studio album where he did most of it himself, but he got help from the British Alan Graves, who is rumored to play drums on Procol Harum's "A Whiter Shade of Pale". The record has been compared to most everything from the Alan Parsons Project to Camel. Rolf died in October 2021. The week he died, he told Thore Engen (Plann) that he would very much like to see "Den Norske Nordmann" published on Norwegian album classics on CD. It would have been nice to fulfill that wish.
