BOBBYSOCKS – WAITING FOR THE MORNING (1986)
Bobbysocks is a pop duo consisting of Norwegian artist Hanne Krogh and Swedish-Norwegian Elisabeth Andreassen. They came together in the summer of 1984 and recorded their first album at Silence Studio in Sweden. The songs were written by Rolf Løvland and Rolf Graf. The album was released towards the end of the year and quickly sold over 20,000 copies. In 1985, the duo participated in the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix final with Rolf Løvland's melody "La det swinge" which won the international final. After the victory, the duo participated in a number of TV shows in Europe before a subsequent summer tour, Swinging Tour '85, where they played all over the world. In January 1986, Bobbysocks performed Lars Kilevold and Eivind Rølles' melody "Waiting for the Morning" during the Spellemannprisen. The LP sold over 100,000 in Norway and was also released in Sweden, Argentina and Brazil.
