ASFALT - HAR DU HØRT DET VERRE? (1981)
Asfalt was a rock band from Stavanger started in 1980 by keyboardist and songwriter Tor Salomonsen. With lyrics in dialect, the band, together with Stavanger Ensemble and Mods, among others, became part of the Stavanger wave in Norwegian rock in the early 80s. The band released two albums on the record label MAI before the label went bankrupt in 1983. At the same time, vocalist Magne Høyland quit and was replaced by Mia Gundersen. With a new vocalist, the band recorded a new self-financed album, but disbanded before it was released in 1984. Among the band's best-known songs are "Takk ska du ha" from the debut album, which Salomonsen wrote as a tribute to the recently deceased John Lennon, and «Onna ei større vinga» with Mia Gundersen on vocals.
