ALEX - ALWAYS (1983)
In 1977, Alex debuted in Norway. Sandøy signed both Norwegian and international contracts - and received several international awards and prizes, in addition to national ones, such as the Nord-Ring prize in Helsinki (1981), the Spellemannprisen 1977 in the pop category for the albums Alex and Handle With Care, and she was named "Female artist of the year" by Det Nye's readers in 1980. Sandøy also worked as a songwriter and producer in the USA and Japan. Always was released in 1983. The album spent seven weeks on the VG-lista and ended with seventh place as the best position. The biggest hits from the record were "Dream Boy (Big Shot)", "I Love Warszawa" and the title track. Svein Gundersen was heavily involved in the music, and the record was produced by Eirik W. Wangberg.
