Description

AH! Had a troubled start to their career. After playing AHA! concerts for years, another band threatened to take the name, and AHA! became Jamaha. The band consisted of Carl Morten Iversen on acoustic bass, Audun Kleive on drums, Frode Alnæs on guitar (his debut album) and Erik Balke on saxophone and Eivind One Pedersen was the songwriter and keyboardist. They played a number of concerts at Jazz Alive and were discovered by Jon Larsen and released this on the label Hot Club De Norvege. Explosive and playful jazz rock with a lot of humor, the reviews said. This is what Terje Mosnes wrote in Dagbladet: "For me this is incredibly exciting music, inspiring in the way art is when accustomed concepts are destroyed. The energy level is sober, the intensity is at times great, the harmonies are more or less unfamiliar, but it is all held together by (I assume) Eivin One Pedersen's basic idea behind the music, which the band loyally supports, despite the musicians' individuality. The result is at least an album that stands firm and well, as documentation of a phase in the development of one of the most exciting Norwegian bands.
