They came together in the summer of 1984 and recorded their first album at Silence Studio in Sweden. The songs were written by Rolf Løvland and Rolf Graf. The album was released towards the end of the year and quickly sold over 20,000 copies. In 1985, the duo participated in the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix final with Rolf Løvland's melody "La det swinge" which won the international final. After the victory, the duo participated in a number of TV shows in Europe before a subsequent summer tour, Swinging Tour '85, where they played all over the world. In January 1986, Bobbysocks performed Lars Kilevold and Eivind Rølles' melody "Waiting for the Morning" during the Spellemannprisen. It would be 10 years from her debut album in 1973, where she sang on the compilation album Stjerne 73 and 11 albums with "Frem fra Glemselen", before she finally came to the market with her own solo album in 1983. When the record company Talent released the album Frem fra Glemselen kap.11 in 1982, they promoted Engebretsen by, among other things, releasing two tracks from this "Frem fra Glemselen" album as a single: "Fly lille fugl" / "Hawaivise". There were great expectations for Engebretsen. The "Frem fra Glemselen" album series had by then sold close to a million records. The debut album Rita came out in January 1983, and mostly contained translated hit melodies, many from Swedish - Kikki Danielsson among others. The album was quite well received both in the press and among the public, unlike singing partner Helge Borglund's debut in 1980, which consisted only of new songs. On this album, Engebretsen was recognized with songs such as "Barnehjemsbarn" and "Sanger skal klinge" which were in the same vein as the "Frem fra Glemselen" songs. Engebretsen also sings a Norwegian version of "House of the Rising Sun", and she has translated "How Great Thou Art" herself into Norwegian. After two albums on the EMI Norge label, Hanne Krogh was back where she started – at Arne Bendiksen's record company. Ole Vidar Lien, who produced her previous album Nærbilde, had now started as Norwegian manager at Arne Bendiksen A/S, and Hanne Krogh followed suit. The new album was titled after a newly written song by Philip Kruse and Svein Gundersen. Krogh's biggest hit from this album was the Dutch "T Kleine cafe aan de haven", known in Dag Frøland's language as "Levende lys". From Sweden she brought "Om du en gang kommer fram til Samarkand" by Bergman. Philip Kruse translated "Nocturne" into Norwegian, and Hanne Krogh herself was responsible for the translation of Olle Adolphson's "Råd til deg og meg". In 1982, West Germany won the Eurovision Song Contest with a landslide victory with "Ein bißchen Frieden", sung by Nicole. The German 16-year-old herself recorded versions of the winning song in different languages that were released in the respective countries. The Norwegian right went to Hanne Krogh, and she recorded "Litt mere frihet" which became enormously popular and received a lot of radio play in the summer of 1982. Representatives from the German record industry fell head over heels for "Jeg er glad i deg", and plans were made to launch Hanne Krogh in Germany with this single. But abroad was not tempting enough for her to sacrifice all the time and energy that comes with such a venture. She concentrated on the domestic market, and received maximum results in the first week of 1983. Then the title track "Alene" was tested on Norsktoppen and went straight to the top. In addition, she was named female artist of the year by Dagbladet. The album became the best-selling in its genre in Norway, and she was awarded the silver disc for 25,000 copies sold. The beginnings of PLX 15 can be traced back to 1983, when Jon Hveding and Langmo played instrumental synthpop on simple and cheap equipment under the name SRD. This duo recorded a three-track demo that was later included on the compilation cassette BLA-BLA. Both Hveding and Langmo sang and played synth, in addition the former also played guitar on selected parts. As a classically trained man, he had played cello in the Bodø Orchestra Association. Langmo was self-taught. The duo was inspired by Kraftwerk and Logic System. Characteristic of the band's sound was a cheap Casio synth named Harald. This could not be programmed, but came with ready-made rhythm programs. The characteristic rhythm that was used on several songs was not actually one of the pre-programmed rhythms, but arose when the rhythm button was in the middle of two settings. In the fall of '83, Hveding and Langmo began playing more experimental music under the name De Pravity (Et Bein). De Pravity participated in the compilation cassette Untitled with the noise composition "Data Kick I - IV", a reviewer in the fanzine Absolute Musique #2/85 called De Pravity "a band that finds it extremely pleasant to play with the pitch control on the record player ... why should everything be so slow!" After this, they changed their name, and in early 1985 they took the band name they would keep: PLX 15. PLX 15 has been described as early techno. Today, the combination of simple, fast rhythms and simple melodies would probably bring to mind chipcore. The band has also been referred to as synthpunk, probably both because of the band members' connection to the punk scene and because of the punk attitude towards music. There was no question of sounding professional or making music a career, it sounded messy and simple. At this time, the book café Låven was the most important gathering place for Bodø's alternative music scene, and until it closed in the summer of '86, PLX 15 was the closest place to a house band. They also participated in Låven's farewell concert in June '86. The most notable thing about this concert was the intro tape, which was the piercing sound of a rubber-less windshield wiper rubbing against a windshield. PLX 15 has never been a career for those involved, so in the fall of '86 the band took a break, but in February '87 Hveding and Langmo got back together and recorded the recordings that became the cassette Kort Prosess. This was put together and released by Hveding and copied by Tore Stemland's Requiem Productions in 1987. "Amen" is also included here, now in a version with English lyrics and Norwegian simultaneous translation. The cassette came out on the eve of the Norwegian cassette wave, but sold relatively well, and also received quite good reviews, even though the recordings were made on simple equipment. Both Nye Takter, Folk og Røvere and Absolute Musique highlighted the group's humor, the latter summing up: "If you're tired of self-important and pretentious music, this cassette will be a breath of fresh air." (Thanks to Tore Stemland for borrowing the text from Rockheim's pages)

1 Untitled

2 Take the Life of a Dream

3 The Strong

4 The Most Naive Song

5 Amen

6 Nature kick

7 The train journey
8 Ode To A Dear Friend (Cure On Kvaløya)
9 PPRSST!!
10 Hippies & Other Things That Didn't Work
11 Midnight's Child (The Pønkelaata)
12 My Suppressed Love (?)

ADRIAN COX – ESCAPE AND TRANSFORMATION (1988)
Adrian Cox, actually Askild Hagen, played in the band Nedbør, which eventually became the synth group El, which released a single, Et hvilested, on Hagen's label Kulturinstitusjonen Piivv in 1987, and in the years that followed, there were many cassette releases with synth music in different moods, before today's LP - Adrian's only one - was released the same year, in a limited edition of 500. This was followed by a bunch of cassettes, in addition to the somewhat absurd project Mormor & de 8000 Ungene, where humor and relaxed 90s synth music are mixed to interesting effect. In 1988, Hagen also became part of the writing group De Gyngende Seismologier, which contributed to radio and television programs such as Hallo i Luken and Egentlig. After this, our man ended up as one of the joke writers behind Nytt på Nytt, and can thus be said to be indirectly one of Norway's most popular unknown people. Adrian Cox in 1988 sounds like a fairly primitive synthpop-like mass, filled with bass and clarinet. The album consists of a total of 18 songs, mostly short fragments of under two minutes, but occasionally stretched out to over three. The rapid succession of songs means that it is a bit difficult to follow the turns, but at the same time the album, whose sound can become a bit similar in length, is not boring, as the song you hear is probably over before it starts to bore you. In terms of mood, it varies from pure, cheerful synthpop on "Sirkel 2" and "Klarhet ved foten av Niagara" to the mysterious "Jenta i vinduet" and melancholic pieces like "Over Europa", where a cello creates beautiful melodic leads. In addition to Hagen's own voice, a certain Kari Emilsen also sings, and her clear, elegant vocals give the already airy music a soaring, almost jazzy feel. The lyrics on the album are a mishmash of Hagen's own lyrics and settings of Jan Erik Vold's poetry, in addition to lyrics by Morten Jørgensen, Eli Katarina Kjønsberg and the Pole Czeslaw Milosz; the lyrical aspect is perhaps the dominant one on the album, as the relatively bare music allows the lyrics to emerge to such an extent that the album can be described as a collection of poems set to music. The album rewards repeated listening, and stands as an exciting collection of stingy pop songs by a slightly eccentric poet. The first line-up consisted of Åge Heltzen (vocals, guitar), Ola Meljordshagen (lead guitar), Ragnar Bernhus (bass), Rune Olbergsveen (drums) and Undis Lien (organ). This was the group that debuted on record in 1966 with the single "Lille Laila" - a song that has since become synonymous with Doodle Bugs and their success as a dance band. Before the group's first LP was released, two of the members left and were replaced by new ones; Bernhus by Rolf Kjernet (bass) and Olbergsveen by Arild Engemoen (drums). Several replacements followed, and during their career around 20 members visited Doodle Bugs. Among them were Tollef Sætersmoen, Jens Erik Lindmoen and Bernt Østbye. The permanent frontman, vocalist and songwriter throughout their career was Åge Heltzen, who was responsible for most of the material that Doodle Bugs recorded. The album Lille Laila was first released in 1969, and has since been reissued twice, first on the label Nett Records in the mid-70s, and in 1979 on EMI. Both editions had new covers. The combined sales for these three LP releases exceed 100,000 copies.

Little Laila

For a Wonderful Time

This is how it can go

By the Beach

Take My Hand

If I Kiss You

Margaret

Join Me On A Fishing Trip, Pernille

Goodbye Kristin

Smile And Laugh

Where is the place?

Josephine

ASPHALT – GET IT OUT (1983)
Asfalt was a rock band from Stavanger, Norway, formed in 1980 by keyboardist and songwriter Tor Salomonsen. Pestilence, in its correct meaning, means something that spreads corruption, often of a moral nature. It was also the starting point for the Levanger band of the same name, which saw the light of day in the early 80s. It actually started with another band, called Black Rose, which became Pestilence with Peer Helge Taraldsen (Peer Gynt), Frank Scott and Roar Berg. As a heavy rock band, the band name was supposed to be grotesque. During the approximately four active years of Pestilence, several people were involved in the band. Among others, Hans Magnus Ryan, better known as Snah in Motorpsycho, played in the band for a year, as well as Ann Katrin Pettersen and Roar Berg. Frank Scott remembers particularly well the evening when Pestilence got to warm up an audience of 3,000 for TNT in Steinkjerhallen. “It was absolutely insane at that age,” he says, and does not rule out that the band could come back to life in the future. – We've talked about doing a reunion for both Black Rose and Pestilence. Danielsen had been involved in Cirkus Modern's early days that same year. The two had a bunch of Hedemann's songs ready when they put the group together. They brought in Beranek (keyboards/guitar), who was already starting his own solo career, Sven Kalmar (drums), Øivind Nordal (bass) and Tellef Øgrim (guitar). Ung Pike Forsvunnet won Ungdommens Radioavis' rock competition in 1982, and debuted the same year with the Norwegian-language Ung Pike Forsvunnet – lyrics and music by Hedemann. Musically, this was a kind of new wave with roots in prog rock. The band played a few times on TV and in clubs in several Norwegian cities, but then things went quiet around them for a while. In the spring of 1984, the band began to move again, but in a new version – Kalmar left and joined Holy Toy, and Beranek prioritized his own career. The remaining members joined several musicians – mainly drummer Bjørn "Julle" Juliusson (The Young Lords/Saturday Cowboys), but also a brass band led by trombonist Dag Einar Eilertsen, as well as vocal support from artists such as Nina Askeland, Lynni Treekrem and Ingeborg Magerøy (The Tunicates). Ung Pike Forsvunnet's second album, Uppercut , differed musically from the debut album by leaning considerably more towards American pop, rock and funk. This version of the band played about 80 concerts, including Rock On The Dock and NRK Fjernsynet's 25th anniversary in 1985. Music writers highlighted Ung Pike Forsvunnet primarily as a steady and strong live band. They took their name from the title of one of the songs they performed; "Tresko og busserull". The trio had annual appearances at Christmas events in Åkrahavn at first, but disbanded when Jensen died. The group started up again in 1975, now with Sjøen, Andreassen and Lasse Pedersen. They participated in the TV program Ferske fjes in 1977, where they performed two self-composed songs. Audun Tylden at Polygram saw the program and offered the group a record deal. The same year saw their debut Suddeli-duttan-dei – a collection of songs with strong elements of both the maritime and the funny. Pedersen left the trio the following year due to a death in the family. His successor was Gunnar Andersen, an experienced revue actor who had already released an LP on his own. Andersen was a prolific songwriter, and thus largely responsible for 3 Busserulls becoming favorites nationwide among an audience that appreciated light tunes with early, apt and sometimes coarse lyrics. Andersen also led the group into more revue-style stage shows with lots of costume changes. The annual revues in his hometown always drew full houses. The musical style gradually changed from sailor's songs on the first albums to dance music on the last. Many of the albums revolved around a theme, such as life along the coast ( Suddeli-duttan-dei , På 'an igjen and Mytteri ), the salty westerner ( Rabbagast ), the oil industry ( Oljefeber ) and Norwegians' drinking habits and double standards ( Piker, vin and 3 Busserulls ), and the group was helped in the studio by the industry's best musicians and producers. Among the musicians are members from Popol Ace, Jonas Fjeld Band, Sambandet and Lava. Most of the material was self-composed, with the exception of some contributions from Ove Thue, Reidar Brendeland (who later also became a member), Morten Lorentzen and the radar pair Monrad Holm Johnsen/Josef G. A film? A phenomenon? Whatever one may think of Rocky Horror Show, it is clearly a piece of art that has managed to provoke, engage and stimulate people all over the world. Also here in Norway. The musical has been staged twice at the Central Theatre in Oslo, as well as by several smaller, local theatres and amateur groups. The film has been shown a number of times in various film clubs around the country. The performance is no less relevant today than it was when it was released. The musical was conceived by Richard O'Brien, an actor and writer from New Zealand with some relatively insignificant roles in films such as "Casino Royale", "Hair" and "Jesus Christ Superstar". The first production was at The Royal Court Theatre Upstairs in London, June 16, 1973, where O'Brien himself played the role of the manic assistant Riff-Raff. The role of Frank N. Furter was interpreted by Tim Curry, and the play quickly became such a great success that the performance had to be moved to the much larger Kings Road Theatre. The London Evening Standard newspaper named The Rocky Horror Show the musical of the year in 1973. The play was first staged at the Central Theatre in October 1977. In the program for the performance at the time, the then theatre director at Oslo Nye Teater, Toralv Maurstad, writes: "Ever since I saw it in London 4 years ago, I have wanted to see if we could manage to make a performance of it here at home." With the good help of Ole Paus and Johan Fillinger, the texts were translated into Norwegian. International expertise was engaged for scenography, costumes and lighting. The cast in Norway was also filled with both established actors and people from the music industry. Meat Loaf's role as Eddie was interpreted in Norwegian by Per Elvis Granberg, while Jahn Teigen and Gro Anita Schønn played the roles of Riff-Raff and Magenta, respectively. Knut Husebø gave an outstanding interpretation of Frank N. Furter both on stage and musically, while Ivar Nørve and Kari Ann Grønsund gave credible Norwegian costumes to Jan (Brad) and Janne (Janet). There were the expected newspaper articles and debates about the decline of morality, as everywhere else The Rocky Horror Show had previously been shown. However, a total of 129 performances were played in the period from October 11, 1977 to March 18, 1978.

Arve Sigvaldsen produced the Norwegian release.
1 Science Fiction/Double Performance
2 The Wedding Song
3 Always Light at Frankenstein
4 A Hip Transvestite
5 Time Gets Screwed Up
6 The Sword of Damocles
7 The Muskellmann Song
8 Eddie's Song
9 The Muskellmann Song (reprise)
10 Take Me, Take Me
11 It Happens Sometimes
12 Eddie's Teddy
13 Planet Jellyfish
14 From the Start, Anything Could Happen
15 I Want to Go Home
16 Super-heroes
17 Science Fiction (reprise)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0513/0770/8572/files/Skjermbilde2025-11-24kl.13.01.41_44ecf087-0076-4279-abc9-f623b13678ac.png?v=1764014013
alf-cranner-fiine-antiquiteter-1964-viser-nacd633
Alf Cranner - Fine Antiquities - 1964 – Showing - NACD633

ALF CRANNER – FINE ANTIQUES (1964)

Alf Cranner is considered by many to be a pioneer of the Norwegian folk song wave of the 1960s. Musically, the band is on a relatively standardized punk rock line with clear references to bands like the Ramones and contemporary Norwegian groups like Turboneger and Gluecifer. The band members always use pseudonyms in concert. They perform the songs in the Trøndelag dialect, and this has led to the band often being categorized as Trøndelag rock.
The band was started in 1991 by Mikael "Micke" Dahl and Åsmund "Åzzy" Prytz, and the original line-up was Micke - vocals Åzzy - guitar Stig Are Høstland (Jungelpatruljen) / Thomas E. Jacobsen (Zensor, Animal Alpha) - drums Tore Fallet (Indian Garden) - bass Siv Trine Haldås - guitar After several member changes, the band was put on hold, with the exception of two reunion concerts around Christmas 1995 and 1996. In 1998, Null$katte$nylterne was revived, and had their first breakthrough with the vinyl single "Pæng/Lægebesøk" in 1999. The band then embarked on a moderately successful tour of Germany, and received a distribution deal with a Spanish record label. In addition to Dahl on vocals and Prytz on guitar, the band now consisted of guitarist Lars Espen "Larris" Reitan and the rhythm section of the Trøndelag band Quintrophenia - drummer Tom Kenneth "Tommy" Alte and bassist Eirik "Eirik the Viking" Øien. Hanne Krogh states on her website that this was the first album where most of the song material was originally written for her. The opening track "Minner" was a Norwegian version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Memory" from the hit musical Cats which was a full house in London. Hanne was tipped off about this song, and the record company secured the rights for Hanne to release it in Norway. "Når natten faller på" was written and recorded on record in Haugaland by her friend Gunnar Andersen - known from 3 Busserulls. In the Norwegian language and in a great arrangement by Pete Knutsen, Hanne made it her own. Gunnar Andersen also participated in the beautiful duet "Jeg vil aldri glemme deg" which he wrote together with Knutsen and Reidar Brendeland. Other newly written songs came from Svein Gundersen and Gunnar Andersen, "We let time pass us by", Jahn Teigen: "Where are you" and George Keller with "Street Children". The subjects were Norwegian, history and English. In addition, there was a strong flame burning for the new form of expression, folk singing, which had come to Norway from the USA through Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez and Bob Dylan, and had settled in the student community at Blindern. It was the right-winger Ole Hauki who had brought the folk club idea to Oslo, and in Dolphin's folk club there stood a line of male and female troubadours with guitars and lyrics on a music stand: Peter Skodbo, Lillebjørn Nilsen, Lars Klevstrand, Kari Svendsen, Åse Kleveland and so on. This was something new, and without exaggeration it can be stated that the form of expression, folk singing, had a formidable spreading effect throughout the country. In Svolvær, the 28-year-old assistant professor from the University of Oslo went to the rector Haavard Hansen and asked about the possibility of starting a singing club at the teaching institution. And the rector was accommodating: "It tastes like a bird," was his comment. It is possible that the bird taste eventually wore off, but at least we were getting started. At that time, there were very few options for young people in Kabelvåg, Svolvær, so the old caretaker's apartment at the high school became an attractive place to hang out for a fortnight. For a tenner you got a songbook containing English, American and Swedish songs and maybe a single Norwegian one every now and then. As the country around us became more and more radicalized, we emphasized singing songs that most people understood, in Norwegian or Northern Norwegian dialect. This created a need for lyricists and composers. Here we got help from a number of writers. As contributors to Lovisa we can mention Finn Myrvang, Kai Larsen, Dag Kajander, Lars Hansen Juvik, Herbjørg Wassmo, Jan Arild Skogholt, Arvid Hanssen and the undersigned. Older texts by long-dead authors were also found and set to music. In this way, Lovisa managed to build up its own repertoire. But when it came to arranging the songs, Lovisa lacked expertise. Therefore, it became typical for the singing club that many people stood on stage and sang in unison and loudly with the accompaniment of guitar and accordion in typical Salvation Army style. When one looks back at the activities that Lovisa stood for during the time it existed, one can divide it into four: 1) Singing club, 2) Singing group, 3) Concert organizer and 4) Festival organizer
Over time, singing groups with highly varying membership numbers emerged from the club. In 1976, it got to the point that the record company Mai released an LP with Lovisa: "Med hammar og høtt". Although the radical Norway is very annoying in the lyrics on the album cover and in some of the songs, the album is still audible today. "Feskarkjerringas vise", "Når fesken heng på hjell", "Sol bakom skyan" and "Kor e hammarn, Edvart ?" hold up to the test both in terms of content and form. This album was recorded in Oslo at Pentecost, and the following performers were on board: Bjørghild Rønningen (vocals), Turid Ringstad (vocals), Kai Larsen (vocals and double bass), Jan Danielsen (accordion), Hilde Hamnes (vocals and guitar), Geir Fredriksen (vocals and guitar), Britt Olsen Talmo (vocals) and Jack Berntsen (vocals and guitar). There were no more albums from the progressive singing group in Svolvær. A curious reason may be that Lovisa was "outcompeted and killed" by the Nordnorsk Visegruppe from Tromsø, who sang their way into the market with multi-part harmonies and advanced and refined musical arrangements. This was something different from the all-singing battle song group from Lofoten.

1 The Song About Henningsvær

2 Rural song

3 Big Profits on Black Bears in the Far North

4 Last Working Hour

5 Morning Prayers in the Northwest and the Region

6 The Cod Song

7 But There Is Sun Behind the Clouds Every Day

8 Tråille As Sku Målbinn Nordlänningen

9 Feskar-Kjærring Show

10 The Trawl Song

11 North of 62

12 Support Iceland's Struggle

YAMAHA!! – EXTENDED NOSE (1986)
The band AHA!!/JAMAHA!!/Extended Noise, which was established as AHA!! in 1982, was a Norwegian jazz group consisting of, among others, Erik Balke on saxophone, Eivin One Pedersen on piano, celeste and accordion, Carl Morten Iversen on bass and Audun Kleive on drums. The choir's orchestras had a tradition of also performing independently of the choir, with their own repertoire. The first band name of the Sky Sing orchestra was St. Georges. The orchestra was led by Georg Gjessen until 1971, when Håkon Berge took over as orchestra leader. Under Berge's leadership, the band developed so much that it got a record deal and then changed its name to Keryx (Greek for messenger). In the autumn of 1973, Berge left to concentrate, among other things, on the music at Rogaland Teater. Keryx never played the repertoire from Underveis live in any context. Eikill took over responsibility the following year together with Eivin One Pedersen, who took over Berge's place as pianist: The repertoire was changed, as was the lineup, among others Jon Dagsland and Nina Askeland took over the singing job. The title was taken from a poem by Herman Hesse, which was printed on the back of the cover. The recordings were made with a portable theater studio, which, if anything, was effective for young rock bands. Both Im Nebel (formerly Blister) and Mausoleum (formerly Kviiin) had lyrics in the Haugesund dialect. Im Nebel at this time consisted of Haakon Larsen (guitar), Johnny "Hazard" Liadal (vocals, bass), Morten Hagland -later Jackman- (drums), Bengt Olav Hansen (organ, strings, synth) and Thomas Rønneberg (bass). The band was seen as a serious and thoughtful group. They were, in their own words, in an isolated musical bubble. The music, atmosphere and lyrics carried a negative vibe. The tracks "Ville visjoner", "Spurv i Tranedans" (received praise for the acoustic guitar part) and "Monkanens sang" were particularly highlighted.
Mausoleum consisted of Øyvind Vie (guitar, vocals), Arild Andreassen (bass) and Bengt Olav Hansen (here on drums and bass). They were described as down-to-earth new wave, with elements of heavier elements. The lyrics were less soaring than Im Nebel's. "Invasion" was about the danger of war and "Mekanisk makt" dealt with how everything was controlled by a computer. So, also very gloomy. Im Nebel recorded their songs in Haakon Larsen's basement during Christmas 1983. Mausoleum recorded their songs at Øyvind Vie's just before the New Year.
